 Through discipline, determination and pride, Cheremosh has earned phenomenal success as a semi-professional Ukrainian dance company. Rich in intensity, energy and spirit, Cheremosh has a reputation of bringing an amazing entertainment spectacle to the stage.

In October 2010 Cheremosh celebrated their 40th anniversary with a spectacular Gala celebration, an event unparalleled in the Society’s long and successful history.  Most recently, Cheremosh participated in the 2011 European Championship of Folklore in Bulgaria as the only North American participant, and brought home the top prize.

In the autumn of 2009 Cheremosh, the Tryzub Ukrainian Dance Ensemble (Calgary, AB) and the Rusalka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble (Winnipeg, MB) joined forces to create a collaborative Ukrainian dance show featuring nearly 100 performers. This production, entitled Razom: A Fusion of Ukrainian Dance, was staged in Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg.

 In 2007, Cheremosh paired up with Aboriginal dance troupe Blackfoot Medicine Speaks to complete a successful, 10-show, 20-day tour of China. The tour, entitled Journey to the Great Wall was a whirlwind of adventure and experience while the reception to Cheremosh in China was incredible.

In 2005, Cheremosh debuted its new show entitled Cheremosh Revolutions.This touring production was performed in Edmonton, Calgary, Cranbrook, Spokane, Great Falls and Victoria. Cheremosh was fortunate enough to have performed to sold out houses in Surrey and Nanaimo, BC, and to have been broadcasted on national television.

Cheremosh takes its audience on a colorful and exciting journey, thrilling them with intricate choreography, spectacular costumes and dynamic music. Men leap to amazing heights with their breathtaking acrobatics while women spin across the stage with incredible beauty and grace. Leaving behind a cultural legacy, Cheremosh is without a doubt a sight to behold.
